Summary:  Provide administrative support to Human Resources and corporate operations by completing the assigned tasks and projects. Specialist serves as a liaison between the HR and all other departments of Greenstone Electrical Services. Has the ability to work in a multi-task environment with minimal supervision. This position reports to the Controller.

Essentials Functions: 

  • Administrate and maintain all FMLA, WC, UI, STD claim forms, responses, correspondence and hearings for all claims
  • Assist with HIPAA compliance. 
  • Capability to make independent judgements regarding the managing of all files, claims reporting, hearings, and audits to work with SWBC.
  • Maintain accurate records in QB and SWBC, employee files, and electronic files
  • Maintain and self-audit of I-9 forms to ensure that the company is in compliance with federal regulations
  • Ability to create policy and update processes to maintain compliance throughout the company
  • Assist the Controller with federally mandated reports: VETS-100, EEO-1, and AAP, if applicable.
  • Develop and assist in the implementation of company procedures.
  • Ability to meet strict standards related to confidentiality of all employee information and have a general knowledge of federal rules and regulations regarding confidentiality issues.
  • Conduct new hire orientation, onboarding, new hire documentations, and benefits information.
  • Be familiar with the most current local, state, and federal employment compliance requirements.
  • Schedule and conduct monthly safety training classes for external associates
  • Responsible for timely updating and revision of employee discount benefits for employees.
  • Conduct timely reporting of all Employment Verifications (this could be drug testing) (DL expirations)
  • Maintain confidentiality with all company records, correspondence, and employee information.
  • Reconciliation of benefit invoices
  • Perform other HR duties as assigned by Controller.
  • Maintaining all accident or incident reports.
  • Tracking employee attendance including sick days, vacations and other time off.
  • Maintaining the company-wide vacation schedule.
  • Reviewing credentials and documents of job applicants to eliminate unqualified candidates and to refer qualified candidates to proper hiring authority.
  • Maintain retention files per regulations.

Qualifications:   Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication to effectively present new concepts and drive outcomes. Ability to effectively multi-task and manage conflicting priorities without impact deadlines and meeting required deliverables. Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.

Education/Experience:  Minimum of two to five years in a Human Resource setting as a Specialist or Generalist. HR Specialist experience preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Report to appointed job site location at beginning of shift to receive task information, tools and materials. Verify that they have the correct amount of materials for the number of route locations. Load materials into vehicle.
• Construction/Installer worker will join a crew and report to crew lead for various client construction projects, primarily underground utility installation.
• Crew members operate tools, equipment and machinery as necessary based on job needs and experience.
• Crew members will install electrical material based on crew leader instruction.
• The Crew member worker will prepare, maintain and close out construction sites safely and crew members must adhere to safety procedure and practice at all times set forth by OSHA and customer standards.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • 3+ years’ experience (will be confirmed) in Utility Services electric company, municipal and other developers.
  • Ability to work well with others as a team
  • Must have wet and dry utilities experience including experience with: Trenching, hand digging and utility pot holing, installing underground utilities, conduit and pull box installations.
  • Directional drilling/boring and handhole/manhole positioning as a plus but not required.
  • Medium and high voltage electrical work with underground powerline conversion/maintenance. Street, traffic and pedestrian signal lighting. Communications/Fiber-Optics a plus but not required.
  • Valid CDL Class A Driver’s license

This position requires working outdoors in all-weather environments including rain, snow, extreme cold, or high heat. Requires travel by car; may be exposed to road related hazards. 

Must use safety equipment as assigned. Working with electricity; can encounter burn and electrocution risks. Exposed to hazards of using tools. Ability to perform physical duties such as lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted, walking, kneeling, twisting, turning, stooping, reaching, and bending; getting in and out of vehicle.
